Born in a prestigious rajput family, her maternal grandfather was a known Avadhi poet. Her Parents provided her an atmosphere with literacy, musical and dance background. She won acclaim when she was a small child. Her father rightly handed her to known and reputed kathak guru Pandit Arjun Mishra who instilled in her dedication to the format. She soon earned the reputation of a cultivated dancer. She was chosen to teach dance in a prestigious institution Study Hall. She mastered choreography. She came in contact with illustrious Raj Bisoria all these factors helped her flow in correct direction and in the young age of 21, she accomplished much. Her exterior pleasant grace added to her performance.
